Why are there new rules for weekends and holidays?
These updates are designed to keep the pool safe and manageable while ensuring City of North Canton residents can continue to access the pool they help fund.
So City of North Canton residents can buy day passes on weekends and holidays?
Yes. Residents may purchase day passes on weekends and holidays after completing a one-time residency verification process with the YMCA.
What does “resident verification” mean?
Residents must set up an account with the YMCA at the North Canton Community Building YMCA and provide:
- A valid photo ID
This is a one-time process each season and helps ensure quick and easy entry on busy days and allows us to add you to our notification text system.
Can I just show my ID at the gate to get in?
No. To keep lines moving and avoid delays, residency must be verified in advance at the North Canton Community Building YMCA. Gate staff will not be able to verify residency on-site.
Can non-residents buy day passes on weekends and holidays?
No. On weekends and holidays, day passes are limited to verified North Canton residents only.
Non-residents may still enter if they are accompanied by a season passholder.
What about weekdays?
Day passes are available to both residents and non-residents on weekdays, as usual.
Are there any exceptions?
Yes.
- July 4: The pool will be open to season passholders and their guests only. No day passes will be sold Saturday, July 4, 2026.
- On rare, extremely high-demand days, resident day passes may be paused for safety reasons. If this occurs, advance notice will be sent to verified residents.
Why do residents receive different access and pricing?
Dogwood Pool is funded in part by North Canton city tax dollars. Resident rates and access reflect that investment and help ensure that those who support the pool are able to use it, especially during high-demand times.
So residents aren’t required to be passholder to use the pool on weekends?
Correct. Residents do not need a membership, but they must:
- Complete residency verification in advance, and
- Purchase a day pass
