Through this funding, the YMCA will offer free programs and services to individuals and families who meet eligibility requirements. The grant will help reduce financial barriers and ensure more children, teens, seniors and families have access to YMCA programs.

Eligible programming may include youth development activities, family engagement opportunities, resident camp at Camp Tippecanoe, wellness programs, sports, recreation, enrichment activities, and other services designed to strengthen families and support positive outcomes for children.

“This grant allows us to meet families where they are and remove cost as a barrier to participation,” Michael T. Brown, director of Community Development said in a statement. “At the Y, we believe every child and family deserves access to opportunities that build confidence, connection, health, and hope.”

Families interested in learning more about TANF eligibility and available YMCA programs are encouraged to contact their local YMCA of Central Stark County branch.
