As a mother of school age children this quote resonates with me. As I continue to work on finding the balance between work and family,  my husband often reminds me that it is the time spent doing things together that my children will remember, not whether their beds were made every day.  Whether we go on family bike rides or make sock puppets on a Sunday afternoon, spending time is something we are very intentional about. 

The Y is part of our daily routine, my husband and I schedule our workouts around work and family time. But the best part of that is, my son’s birthday is this month and he is counting down the days till he is 10, so that he can come to the Y and work out in the wellness center with his dad. This makes me smile, because not only will he be spending time with his dad, but he will start on his healthy journey.

The Y has great programs that truly encourage families to do things together. From our small stuff youth sports programs to our Preschool Play and Learn and even our Mom and me yoga class, our programs are designed with that in mind.

 Sara from the North Canton Y has been attending class with her son since the 2-3 year old class. They took Preschool Play and Learn and really enjoyed their time together. She added, “My son LOVED the class and was excited to go because it was our special time together.” It is great to know that you are having fun learning as well as exercising. Sara explained that, “it was such a joy watching my son develop and experience new things.”

I love hearing parents share their stories about the time they are spending with their children at the Y. Life is so hurried today, it is great to know that even though time still marches on, some are filling their treasure chest with memories that are timeless!
