To put Christian Principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Motivating

Recently, I stopped by the Lake YMCA and was privileged to watch a personal training session. If I had to sum up the visit in one word, it would be ‘MOTIVATING.’ We have all seen the before and after progress pictures but to actually watch and listen to a session and witness firsthand the enthusiasm and excitement just adds to the reality of a life being changed.

Jackie was willing to share her experience about her progress and stated, “she wanted to make the most of the opportunity to come to the Y.” While Jackie was in college, she received a scholarship to help with the membership cost and wanted to be a good steward of this gift so she has worked very hard on her personal journey to wellness.

Michelle Volpe is a Personal Trainer at the Lake YMCA and has written a work out plan with Jackie’s goals in mind. Hiring a personal trainer not only puts a professional in your corner, someone who can help you reach your goals, but it provides you with a friend who encourages you on your journey.
To date Jackie has lost 18 lbs., and has lost inches in her waist, chest and hips. She has shaved off 2 minutes from her 4 mile run and is now able to run 8 miles without walking in between. She is currently training for her first half marathon. She has been so pleased with her results that she shares her story with those she cares about so that she can hopefully impact others on their journey to healthy living.

The YMCA Annual Campaign provides opportunities to those who otherwise couldn’t afford it, but it is so much more. It is the opportunity to lead a healthier life in the community!
