That's why the Y passionately focuses on strengthening our communities.
Every day, the Y supports youth, adults, seniors and families with programs that protect, teach, connect, heal, nourish and encourage. Everything we do helps empower communities and the "us" who live in them to thrive. We cannot do it alone.
In 2017, The YMCA of Central Stark County gave over $2 million in financial assistance to 13,000 individuals in our community. Here are some ways your donation can make a difference in this year:
Strengthen foundations for youth and families through access to safe and enriching child care for working parents
Encourage healthy spirit, mind and body in every day lives for people of all ages. From Diabetes Prevention and Livestrong cancer recovery to personal training, the Y is here for healthy living.
Help kids reach their full potential through youth and teen programs that give kids access to summer camp experiences and provide a framework of support at school and in the home – grounded in the Y’s Character Pillars: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Caring and Citizenship

How will my gift be used?
Donations to the Annual Support Campaign are used to fund the Y’s financial assistance programs for those who cannot afford to pay the full price for Y memberships and programs. In addition, the Annual Support Campaign provides money for the establishment of new programs and services or the expansion of programs and services to our communities.
Why should I give to the Annual Support Campaign? I already pay for my membership and program fees.
Membership and program fees are established to offset the direct costs of delivering YMCA programs and services to our members and program participants. Annual Support donations are used to provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford the full cost of membership or program registration fees. All financial assistance is awarded on a financial need-based sliding scale.
I am not a member of the YMCA. Why should I give?
The YMCA of Central Stark County provides the community with quality programs that help children, teens, families and seniors live healthy and productive lives. If you live, work, or own a business in the area, you can be assured that your donation is making our community a better place to live, work and raise a family.
Can I designate my gift to a particular program or branch?
Yes, you can choose to have your gift be applied wherever it is most needed or, if you are connected to a particular branch or program and prefer your gift be used there, just indicate on your pledge card or check how you would like your gift used.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes, The YMCA of Central Stark County is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. As such, all charitable gifts received in the Annual Support Campaign are tax-deductible to the extent of the tax code.
