It is hard to believe as you look out your window that golf season is right around the corner.  The Y is excited to be partnering with The First Tee Canton to offer the DRIVE program. The DRIVE program is designed for youth using introductory golf equipment for both indoor and outdoor play.   The equipment is modified with replica clubs of a putter and wedge along with colorful over-sized, tennis-style balls and a variety of targets.  The program combines basic golf skill activities with The First Tee’s Nine Core Values, which mirror the Y Character values.  

Youth will learn from YMCA staff who have are certified DRIVE instructors. The Paul & Carol David Y offered the first DRIVE program activity over Christmas vacation to the child care school days out program - the photos say it all. The program will be offered in our Afterschool programs, Summer Day Camps and as a youth sports program at all the Y branches beginning this spring.  Special thanks to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio who provided grant funding for the DRIVE equipment.
