North Canton Pool

We have a full array of aquatic programs for everyone from six months to seniors.  Our programs cover instructional (Preschool, Youth, Adult, and Private Lessons), water fitness (Shallow Water, Deep Water, Fitness, Swim Team, Swimnastics, Arthritis Program), Open, Family or Adult Swim.  See our program schedule for more information. 

Small Pool (Duck Pond) 

Our instructional pool's depth is 9 Yds long by 6-1/2 Yds wide.  The dept is 2-1/2 Ft - 3 Ft.  Water Temp is 87-89 degrees

This pool is for small children 10 & under and families with small children.

Large Pool 

Our large pool has 6 Lanes and is 25 Yds long by 14 Yds wide.  The depth is 3 Ft 9 In. - 12 Ft 9 In.  Water Temp is 83 - 85 degrees.  The pool offers a lift chair for those unable to negotiate the steps. 

Whirlpool & Sauna

The whirlpool and sauna are for both men and women over 18 yrs of age (OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL) and older.

Open Swim Policy

All Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an Adult in the water and on the deck at all times.

To swim without a parent or guardian, children must be 6 years of age or older AND 48" tall OR be able to pass the deep water test.  This applies whether they are using the small or large pool.  Wristbands(*) will be distributed when child scans into building.

Private Swim Lessons may also share lap lanes and Open Swim water. 

Open Lap Lanes

Open Swim water is available.

Adult Swim

Adult Members only 18 years (out of High School) and up. Lanes are available for lap swimming as well as Open Swim water.

Family Swim

Adult members 18 years (out of High School) and up and Families only. Children in High School and below may swim as long as an adult family member is also in the water. 

Deep Water Test

For anyone 6 years & up to high school. Swim one length of pool (25 yd), front crawl with face in water. Jump in the deep end and resurface. Tread water for 30 seconds. Float on back and go from floating position to prone/standing position. At the guard's discretion, participant may be asked to retake the test at any time. Check Large Pool schedule for days & times.

 * Swim Wrist Bands Required During Open Swim

The use of swim wrist bands are required for children ages 6 to 14.  Open and family swim wrist bands will be distributed at the YMCA  front desk and customer service areas.  The computer will show which band each child should have.  Those who have not been tested will need to be tested and that information will be entered into the computer.
