The Minerva Area YMCA Child Care center was awarded a Star #2 on April 21, 2010 from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services - Bureau of Child Care and Development, the state agency responsible for licensing and promoting high standards among Ohio's child care programs. This award is for recognition of its excellent child care program and its ongoing commitment to children.
Hours of Operation:
The Minerva Area YMCA Child Care is open Monday through Friday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. We are open on school days off, including Christmas break, Spring break and snow days.
About the Staff:
The Child Care Center is licensed by the state of Ohio. The Child Care Director holds an Associate Degree in Educational Technology and an Ohio Elementary teaching Certificate for Pre-K. All staff are trained and certified in Child Abuse Identification and Prevention, Common Childhood Illness, First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogen Awareness and Child Development.
Policy Statement:
The curriculum in all programs reflects the six character traits incorporated in all YMCA programs: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship . All programs provide developmentally appropriate activities and are designed with the YMCA philosophy in mind.
