It is amazing what we are able to do when we work together to help our community grow. With your financial support in our annual Strong Kids Campaign we have been able to help our neighbors gain access to a YMCA that focuses on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This past year we helped over 700 individuals become members of the MEYERS LAKE YMCA, many for the first time.
We teach young kids how to stay healthy though their enrollment in Future Fitness Club. This summer, our YMCA Leaders Club went to Columbus to help out with Special Olympics. Youth involved in Summer Day Camp have been learning how to recycle and make green projects that they can use around the home. Our summer Swim Team had over 65 kids that participated in the summer swim team championship not to win necessarily, but to improve upon their personal best times.
Please take a few minutes to visit us. We would love to show you the progress that has been made on several facility improvements thanks to the generosity of several foundations and individuals. The work includes replacement of the heating and ventilating systems in the pool, gym and locker rooms. The new system will allow the locker rooms to be air conditioned and enable the entire system to run more efficiently.
