To put Christian Principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

May your future shine bright

For over 55 years Camp Tippecanoe has been a place where campers go to grow and mature. This is not only true for campers but staff as well.  I know this first hand because as a staff member there during the 80’s my experience as a counselor led me to change my college major and put me on a career  track that is now 30+ years with the YMCA movement.

I am excited to announce that Scott Weigley has experienced this same growth experience.  After ten years as the director of Camp Tippecanoe he has accepted a position with the Buffalo-Niagara YMCA in New York as the Executive Director of YMCA Camp Weona.

Scott and his wife Carrie have dedicated themselves to ensuring that the Tipp experience has been safe and meaningful for the thousands that have passed through the camp gates during the last decade.  Their countless hours of time and their passion for camp have helped foster memories that will last a lifetime!

While Scott will be leaving for New York in early February, Carrie will be staying here through the end of this school year to assist us in preparing camp for this summer and helping as we transition to a new director.

So as Scott and Carrie head to do positive things at YMCA Camp Weona please join me in thanking them for their service to Camp Tippecanoe and in wishing them the very best in this move.  Announcements about the new director and about a farewell send-off for Scott and Carrie will be posted here – stay tuned and “Keep the Campfire Burning”.
