Louisville Water Fitness

The Louisville Area YMCA has a water fitness class tailored for juniors and seniors alike, from a deep water, high intensity work-out, or the milder Swimnastics class designed for strengthening and toning.

Physically Challenged

  • Recreational aquatic exercise structured for those with MS or other physical limitations
  • Includes individuals with back problems, stroke recovery, and mobility difficulties
  • No Charge for this class

 

Arthritis Water Exercise

  • Class in conjunction with the Arthritis Foundation
  • Exercises help to improve flexibility, freedom of movement, muscle strength and muscle tone
  • Participant release required (pick up form at the Member Service desk)

 

Swimnastics

  • Low impact, low intensity workout
  • Exercises designed for strengthening, toning, and improving flexibility
  • Includes 10 - 15 minute cardiovascular workout

 

Water Fitness

Deep or Shallow Water Aerobics
  • Deep - High intensity, no impact workout
  • Shallow - High intensity, low impact
  • Water resistance tones and strengthens muscles
  • Deep Water - Ski belts are worn for support
