Louisville Group Exercise

The Louisville Area YMCA offers a wide variety of land fitness classes, from Lo Impact Aerobics for the beginner to Power Intervals for the intermediate to advanced athlete.

Land Fitness Includes

 

 

 

Cardio Crosstrain Challenge

  • For the intermediate to advanced
  • Incorporates various formats Drills, running, intervals                                                                               

Group Cycling Orientation

  • For any Member new to Group Cycling
  • Learn bike set-up and safety, terminology, and use of heart rate monitor
  • Must sign up for orientation at Member Services

 

Group Cycling

  • Low - high intensity/no impact.  A great way to get a cardio workout
  • 30 to 60 minute cardiovascular workout simulating outdoor cycling with music 
  • Orientation class required, sign up at Member Service desk
  • Must be at least 60" tall to fit bike properly

 

 

Lo Impact

  • Beginner to intermediate
  • Lo impact, moderate intensity cardiovascular workout
  • Includes muscle conditioning and stretching

 

Pilates

  • Beginner to advanced
  • Body conditioning method that promotes flexibility and strength
  • Works core muscles

 

 

Guts & Glutes

  • Beginner to advanced
  • High energy workout designed to effectively target the entire abdominal and gluteal regions

Resist-A-Ball

  • Beginner to advanced
  • A stability ball is used to develop strenght, flexibility and balance A stability ball is used to develop strength, flexibility, and balance

 

 SilverSneakersMuscular Strength & Range of Movement

 

  • Have fun and move to the musci through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills
  •  Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance
  • Chair is used for seated and/or standing support

 

Relaxing Yoga

  • Beginner to Advance
  • Tone and stretch your body and relax your mind 

Athletic Interval Training

  • A real athletic workout that combines cardio interval training and strength
  • Advanced to Intermediate

 

Zumba!

  • A party with exercise!
  • A mix of Latin and International music
  • Interval training format, combining various rhythms and movements that tone and sculpt the body
  • Due to the movements progressing each week, you will be most successful starting at the beginning of a session

Boot Camp
