What's the YMCA all about? The Young Men's Christian Association is all about: You! It's about all of us. It's about the "at risk" teen who must choose between drugs and playing basketball while learning character values at the Y. It's about the single parent who has suffered poverty and abuse and is in need of childcare and support for spirit, mind, and body. It's about the family (maybe yours) that just suffered a lay off, job loss, or just weathering these difficult economic times who can still spend a Friday night out together swimming, doing crafts, playing games at YMCA Family Night. It's about the lonely senior (your neighbor?) who lost his spouse last year and is desperately in need of the warm friendships he finds in the Silver Sneaker class. It's about the overweight cancer survivor who is seeking a healthy lifestyle, self esteem, a new beginning. It's also about the young mom whose husband is in the military serving our country in Afganistan. A YMCA membership gives her and her children a safe and caring place to come to while he is away. What about the little boy who really wants to be on swim team but mom's sick and dad just lost his job. There are so many stories here. Your story is just as special. The Y is about all of us and the YMCA is for all of us.
