Wellness Programs

Health and Wellness Philosophy

The YMCA health and wellness programs are developmentally appropriate and help people at any stage of life build positive health habits. Participation in YMCA programs offers youth and adults opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, increased self-confidence and improved mental abilities.

YMCA programs and services cut across diverse populations with diverse needs and attempt to take into account the total-health of each person. The YMCA provides a variety of health and wellness programs including exercise and water fitness classes for people and families of all ages, health and wellness seminars, educational classes, personalized training programs, and social opportunities for seniors and families.

Activate America®

Activate America® is the YMCA's bold approach to directly address our nation's growing health crisis. Our mission compels us to transform the way we work, both internally and externally, to support all kids, adults, families and communities in their pursuit of well-being in spirit, mind and body. In addressing America's unprecedented health crisis, the YMCA is best equipped to influence change in individuals and in our communities to proactively address this health crisis, which is central to the achievement of our mission.

 

WELLNESS CENTER ORIENTATION

  • Free to all members over 13
  • Strongly recommended for all members (Beginners, intermediate, and advanced)
  • Overview includes strength and cardio machines set-up, facility layout, policies, and procedures
  • Schedule at the front desk

 

YMCA FITNESS ASSESSMENT (MEMBERS ONLY)

  • Certified staff evaluates current fitness levels
  • Test for muscular strength / endurance, flexibility, cardio endurance, and body composition
  • Recommended prior to starting personal training

 

PERSONAL TRAINING

  • 1 on 1 sessions for any age or fitness level
  • Certified personal trainers will custom design your program regardless of wellness goals
  • Partner training with a friend also available
  • Available for anyone who has never worked with a personal trainer
  • Contains 1 fitness assessment & 2 personal training sessions

WOMEN ON WEIGHTS

  • 6 Week Program
  • Group Instruction and Personal Training
  • Involves Bosu Balls, Free Weights, Resistance Bands, and Stability Balls
  • $30 Members Only
