Hershey Aquatic Center
The Hersey Aquatic Center is home to the Lake YMCA Sharks Swim Team and the Lake Blue Streaks High School Swim Team. The aquatic center has four 25-yard lanes and two instructional areas along with a hot tub and sauna. The Lake YMCA Aquatic Department is dedicated to bringing our members and patrons quality programs for children and adults. Whether you are participating in our swim lesson program, attending Aqua Aerobics, or lap swimming, we strive to offer you the highest quality facility and programs.
Deep Water Test
The deep water test is required for all children ages 6 to 14. The child must be able to swim one length (25 yards) front crawl with face in the water, using rotary breathing and above water arm recovery. Must also tread water for 30 seconds and float on back for 10 seconds.
Swim Wrist Bands Required During Open Swim
Wrist bands are required for children ages 6 to 14. They will be distributed at the front desk during open swim times--the computer shows which band each child should have. Those who have not been tested will need to be tested, after which the computer will be updated.
