WELLNESS CENTER ORIENTATION · Free - to all YMCA members, ages 13 and older · Strongly recommended for all members (Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced) · Consists of an overview of the Wellness Center including signing up for cardio equipment, set-up for strength machines, facility layout, policies and procedures · See Wellness Center Desk to make an appointment! WELLNESS CENTER YOUTH SAFETY CLINIC · Mandatory - for all YMCA members and their guests between the ages of 13 and 17 before using the Wellness Center · Must bring your membership card with you each time you visit the Wellness Center · Consists of an overview of the Wellness Center with emphasis on safety · Proper equipment usage, lifting techniques, policies and procedures exclusive to 13 - 17 year olds · See Wellness Center Desk to make an appointment! YWELLNESS 101 · Free - to all YMCA members, ages 13 and older · Gradual progression of physical activity for 6 weeks. 1st two weeks include cardio exercise ONLY; strength training is incorporated in the 3rd week · YMCA-trained Wellness coach follows up on progress · Contact Lori Simionides at ext 1105 for more information YMCA FITNESS ASSESSMENT · Certified YMCA staff will evaluate your current fitness levels · Test for muscular strength/endurance, flexibility, cardio endurance and body composition · Recommended (but not required) prior to starting Personal Training · For Members and Non-Members PERSONAL TRAINING · One-on-one session for members only, any age and fitness level · Customized fitness program designed by a YMCA personal trainer to meet individual specific needs and goals · One hour sessions · Want to share your Personal Training with a buddy? PERSONAL TRAINING STARTER KIT · Not sure if you'll like Personal Training? · Available for anyone who has never trained with a Personal Trainer · Contains 1 Body / Cardio Metrix Fitness Assessment & 2 Personal Training sessions · For Members only · Contact Lori Simionides to set up Starter Kit · One-on-one session instruction (Yoga, Pilates, Zumba or other) · Perfect for those wanting individualized instruction or are intimidated by 'group" style exercise classes · Emphasis on the "essential elements" of form and movement to maximize your workouts · 1 hour class · Contact Lori Simionides to set up Essential Elements appointment WOMEN ON WEIGHTS · Complete workout for you using free weights · Each class must have 4 participants · Held in the free weight area of the Wellness Center · For Members Only · 2x / week per 6 week session. SHORT CIRCUIT · Circuit training is an efficient and challenging form of conditioning. It works well for developing strength, endurance (both aerobic and anaerobic), flexibility and coordination · Each class must have 4 participants · Strength training or cardio format · For Members only.
