One of the things that make all YMCAs special is that it's for everyone. It's for people of all ages, races, religions, incomes and abilities. The YMCA strategy includes the promise of never turning anyone away due to an inability to pay. Funds are raised every year through the Strong Kids Campaign to help carry out this promise. The YMCA helps teach character by emphasizing the six character pillars of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. The YMCA vision is to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
Our local YMCA was established in Stark County in 1866, 144 years ago. The YMCA has much more to offer you than just gyms and swimming pools - there are over 200 different programs, as well as reciprocity with all of the Akron YMCAs too. The staff and volunteers strive everyday to provide you the best possible customer service, as well as clean and well maintained program facilities. We value and appreciate your support. BCI / FBI Background Checks:
The YMCA of Central Stark County provides background checks through Webcheck for other agencies and any individuals needing it for employment, licensing requirements, etc.
Background checks are done Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays by appointment only at the Corporate Offices. Drivers License or State Photo ID is required. Call for an appointment and quote of applicable fees 330-491-9622 x 251 or x 242. Please download and complete the BCI / FBI Waiver form and bring it with you to your appointment to expedite the process.
