The North Canton Community Building YMCA was founded in 1923 by W. "Boss" Hoover who gave the original "Community Building" to North Canton for the enjoyment of its citizens. The current building was completed in 1970, with a major addition in 1983 and a new Wellness Center addition in 2002. Y participants range in age from 6 months to the nineties.
The North Canton Community Building YMCA has an off-site Infant Toddler Center, an off-site Child Care Center and an off-site Gymnastics Center. Our main facility includes 2 indoor pools, a state-of-the-art Wellness Center, aerobics fitness center, group cycling room, three gyms, air conditioned walk-running track and much more.
Over the span of years, thousands upon thousands of individuals and families intent upon realizing the YMCA's goal "To Build Strong Kids, Strong Families, and Strong Communities" have passed through the doors of the North Canton Community Building YMCA. Our heritage is strong in North Canton, and we look forward to serving future generations of our community.
