7th ANNUAL LOUISVILLE 2MI/10K FUN RUN
Early in the morning on June 9th, the pre-race ritual begins. Mine starts with a cup of java, eating a bowl of oatmeal, relaxing, stretching and making sure that I have had a few glasses of water. Ahh, but this race is different, this time my whole family is racing. I reminded the kids the night before, while tucking them in, that we would be getting up early to run a race. Everyone was up and excited to run a race together. Dad pushing the double stroller, the kids, and mom all running together. Could this be the start of a family tradition?
The weather was perfect and the atmosphere was very family friendly. We were meeting another family; a dad and his 3 daughters. He has been running with his girls for over 10 years. They enjoy racing together - it is safe to say that racing is their family tradition.
The 7th Annual Louisville 2mi/10K fun run was truly a family fun event. They had a party balloon artist for the kids, fun door prizes and healthy post race snacks. With just over 300 racers the event was a true hometown experience. This race is definitely one to add to your list of things to do - you won't be disappointed!
